Cue Fanfare

Jester ~ August Hall

Are there voices loud enough
to break this stubborn silence?
Are there words to overcome
this inarticulate violence?
Will the flames of power games
occlude these azure skies
Over subterranean, cowering heads
filled up with corporate lies?
Will these unconscious astral maps
ever help us fly away
While this collective docile herd
continues to hold sway?

No one wants to be a part
of this diabolic deal
But everyone knows
just how they’re meant to feel
Perhaps the Left and Right
are not the only choices
When all you hear from dawn to dawn
are these corrupted voices
Lift up the books collecting dust
in forgotten warehouse corners
Sweep your keys for electronic rust
And employ as thought-transformers

Title lifted from the Prefab Sprout's beautiful debut Swoon

Probably not the best time to post this one - we're all supposed to be filled with hope ;}

The skeptic and the hope fiend
Tear enquiring minds asunder
Been lied to so long
Truth seems like a blunder

Stubborn silence can be frustrating.

Dood: Inside every skeptic there is a hope-fiend bursting to get out (and vice versa)
Princess: Welcome back
James: as can stubborn noise :}

oh, bullshutters! what better time? (of course, you knew that.) vanity of vanities, all is vanity, and i see tons of it in washington right now, the vain following the vain into the bloodied sun, with more blood to come!

yes, out the books and take up the slack, create something new––they won't. turn off goddamned cnn before you forget your own name or how to feel. do something, anything! call urgency! ('cause it is.)

you've done that here, pisces, and i'm with ya: we are not gonna wait for the boom and bust! (and there is nothing new under the sun...get used to it!) xoxoxo ~lt

ps. as for me, i'm waaay overdue for a poem...

Laura: My mother often said "Live in hope, die in dispair" still, I do believe in hope... what else is there?

great maxim. i'm like a yoyo, taken in by the hopeful rhetoric one day, slammed to the ground the next. i'm a terrible cynic; i just want all this senseless killing to end and someone to take responsibility! but i'll flash a smile and walk with them a while longer, and yes, hope for the best. i'm human and at least some of them are too. watch out: here come my pearly grays! :>>))) xoxooxxoox
