Foregone Conclusions

And your spine will tingle in anticipation of the diplomacy of our knives
And your bombs will fall in the vacuum of newsworthy items
Take your stance your sword-hand extended
Take your cut from alms amended
We are not men
We are agents of reaction
We are not women
We are the eve of destruction
Take our cut from ledgers amended
Take our stance sword edge lovingly tended
And your bombs will bring you to your knees on the late late news
And your spinal cord severed by the diplomacy of our knives

Chilling. The separation between the first and last lines and the change is morbid.
"We are not men
We are agents of reaction
We are not women
We are the eve of destruction"
And these lines were pure genius.

not only for the ingenious mirror imaging, but also for the twisty reversals in that mirror.
a tale for our times....

Thank you for sharing this information. Honestly, the lines are too hard to comprehend since it’s too poetic. But the image displays a burning house. I think it was cause by some arsonist or terrorist. I really like this line.
We are not men
We are agents of reaction
We are not women
We are the eve of destruction
This is a formidable line. I guess there is more to it than what it means for me. I just wonder why women are the eve of destruction.

that was amazing...my fav thus far...such startling imagery and rampant pace...and the visual of the sword arm & falling to the knees...nice.

JeffScape: Glad you enjoyed it

shorter college atlanta: oh...kay (I think)

Brian: Thanks for all your great comments - this is probably inspired by Leonard Cohen's "First we'll take Manhattan" filtered through Hope Sandoval's "For the rest of your life".

Tumblewords & soundoffreedom: Thanks! :)

Kavisionz: is their any other kind of circle ;]
