Sundial

Love cuts a new rung
On the ladder of swords
The trees steal the green
Right out of the lawn

Rain washes blood
From the ladder of swords
The trees bow their branches
Submission to mourn

And as the sun kills the moon
Climbs the ladder of swords
The trees throw their shadows
The morning to scorn
