16 Miles to Merricks ~ Joao Paulo Alvares Ruas
Her hair aflame in the open window current
She longs for a childhood without weight
She watches him in profile
He’s older than he looks
She pretends, just for a while
That she has the courage to engage
She longs for a life without wait
Her hair aflame in the open window current

another compelling read-- the parallels and same/differents are neat bookends. I also like how the without weight/wait works here.
Clever !
I love the art work.
Now I'm going to demand the impossible, but actually it is possible if my perception is correct.
From looking at your site, I think you might like my new YA fantasy novel, 'Lethal Inheritance’. You can take a preview peek at ch 1 at http://publishersearch.wordpress.com/lethal-inheritance/
If you do like it, leave a comment so I'll know if I got it right or not.
i like this, pisces. in a minor note, i'd get rid of the comma (the only punctuation in the entire poem). the artwork is gorgeous. did you write this first or were you inspired by the artwork?
Harlequin: But does it make any sense? :D
Tahlia: Will do - although I'm hardly the person to ask really.
Laura: I hereby declare you the punctuation police. I know what you mean - but I don't care enought to go back and remove it :)
This is really a people-watch story ( a woman I saw on the underground - her bright red hair blowing in the draught from the open window (or ventilation system as Transport for London would have you believe)) The picture has been hanging around in my "this'll come in handy someday" folder.
ain't it the truth. why am i obsessed with this? hmmm... more psychotherapy needed. xoxoxo
Firstly i would like to say that i really like your profile picture ( the cover of the star my destination by Alfred bester.) Great poem . i love the metaphor with the red hair.
Mory: welcome! the picture is by Donato Giancola
I must admit, the meaning here eludes me a bit, but I still want to know where I can find this girl. Heh.
