His voice is boundless, inappropriately loud and disproportionally opinionated.
His difficulty with the nagging fear that he may be wrong makes it impossible for him to understand how others might disagree with his worldview.
He is limited. He is self-limiting: the view from behind his eyes is restricted by his prejudicial nature.
It is a view down a dark and narrow tunnel that allows no breadth; a lens that concentrates on the particular - a bigot’s microscope mounted on a framework that is unaware of the wider view.
Unaware that the wider view that might tint his basic concepts with shades of grey and possibly even colour.
Perhaps this narrow view fills his head with frightening thoughts and so he finds that the only way to stop thinking is to talk.

I would like to explain the title of this post, if not the real person within its body:
Vessel: a pretty obvious reference to the proverbial empty vessel that makes the most noise, but a container nonetheless.
Vassel:

Vassel:
- (in the feudal system) a person granted the use of land, in return for rendering homage, fealty, and usually military service or its equivalent to a lord or other superior; feudal tenant.
- a person holding some similar relation to a superior; a subject, subordinate, follower, or retainer.
- a servant or slave.

great post.... has that eerie haunting quality that your writing gets when you are uncovering unsettling wisdom...
this is quite accurate rendition of naive consciousness .... you know, that state of (non)mind (fulness) when one assumes that one's way of looking at the world is not only the best way to look but the only way.
hegemonic overlords of the world, unite.
wonderfully worded, terribly observant. sadly true
Harlequin: 'naive consciousness' - I've not heard the term before but it certainly rings true. There is a certain stubbornness that seems to go with it - I have met many who suffer it by degrees but few as extreme as the individual that inspired this post.
Tom: 'terribly observant' indeed - especially since I do have a soft spot for the individual described - in fact this post is an attempt to reconcile the contradictions of emotion and intellect - I like the guy but hate most of the shit that comes out of his mouth. :/
We're each curiosity driven sailing vessels with a uniquely personal keel. This reality tunnel is either cast at early age and rejects contrary events as the dirty work of the "other side/devil" or is an evolving theory expanding in comprehension of universal nature by consideration of all exceptions. There's no coincidence that the faithful and the bigoted flock together.
Dood: a flock of bigots - what an image that cunjures - where's by bird gun!
