John Byrne ~ The Messiah |
You and me on the streets of this city that doesn't care what we bring, as long as we bring.
Infected, possessed, by the sprites of youth that won’t allow easy surrender to age.
They beg us to hoist our colours above the anonymity of city indifference, allow us to part the oblivious crowds with our inability to conform.
And not even the flags of autumn flailing windward can serve to apply the appropriate coat of ‘thou shalt/shalt not’ shellac.
