'38 Rue Utopia ~ Ep.34

No man alive has earned the right to save me
~ The Veils ‘Advice for Young Mothers to be’ 2006

unknown

Eva clamps the winch to the charger and connects the power cable plug to its socket while Alice removes the kite from its bag and unfolds it out to launch shape, amazed as always by the weightlessness of it and how this umbrella sized package can unfold further into a 30x20 metre energy collector up above the clouds where the sun still shines.
“We can do this without Daniel, Eva; we normally do all the work anyway, under his supervision; ‘have a little faith in yourself’ as Joe likes… liked to say”
Eva presumes that Alice’s reassurance is aimed inward, she has every confidence in her own abilities to perform, even without the assistance of the weather statistics that Daniel stores in his memory.
“The wind seems right, blowing from the north; and it doesn’t smell like rain. We can print another kite if we fuck this one up – it’s not exactly complicated”
“I’m glad you don’t think photo-electric skin is complicated but hey, it’s either we do this or the batteries go down, and if that happens we won’t be printing anything ever”

I’m just going to own up right now:
I stole the whole kite thing from a little movie called
Wire Cutters
Check it out along with other fine shit over at the Dust Portal

toonocalypse was... colorful. I couldn't figure out how to search for specific films, but might try again later
