Vampiros en la Sabana ~ Maria Isabel Rueda |
Từ Tiền Nhân doesn’t look up when they come to feed her; crouched over the bright screen of the tablet they’d given her when they brought her here. Her fingers flit to connect the disparate results of the latest integrity test.
She’s working late again, but that’s what she needs to do; you can’t create the future by working 9 to 5. Or so her father used to say, along with other gems of wisdom like:
It’s not good enough just to succeed
If it doesn’t work, fix it
“Food’s on the table Amy” the sound of her euro-name causes the crease between her eyes to deepen.
“You need to eat darlin’ - getting way too thin”
“Okay ok OK!” over her shoulder, impatient with the distraction.
“You be a good girl now and eat your meals”
