'38 Rue Utopia ~ Ep.83

When people run in circles it's a very very
Mad world
~ Tears for Fears 1982

The Damned ~ Oscar Chichoni

Michael Caine springs the locks on the secure door at the rear of the airlock. The door collapses elegantly into the wall and leads her deeper into the mesa.
Ellie is now in the original nuclear bunker. The corridors here, beyond the giant warehouse that houses the fake suburb, are functional concrete and steel; Ellie’s leather boots make little sound. A shadow still, she negotiates the maze fed to her by Michael; not expecting to meet anyone other than servicers upholding the Kulturati secrets, all relying on the AI to notify them as to what is right and what is wrong. Michael has tagged her as Security Personnel, overlaying her face tattoo and the shroud software in her dress with the data from Nikos’ chip which Ellie carries under her tongue, spikey and metallic.
Snatches of an old song tug at her mind’s peripheral, Bright and early for their daily races
Going nowhere, going nowhere.
Nothing to fear from the Servitors then; but as Michael scans his circuits he locates three members of the Kulturati down here monitoring Amy Nhan’s progress on the android.
The news transmitted to Ellie via the chip causes her to stop, briefly ignoring her perimeter.
Aside from Tien Nhan: Three; two soldiers and Cockburn himself.
Tien Nhan’s presence in the bunker is a surprise, but she’s been looking forward to Cockburn since she entered the Bunker with Giles.
Ellie’s seen Cockburn in the Carny years ago but has never met him; not many people have.
Cockburn: Bigmark’s core mythology; the one they all bow to in one way or another.
